A home Energy Audit will help you identify the best energy efficiency solutions for your home. Start by contacting Redmond Home Inspections to schedule an initial home energy audit, then complete at least two energy-saving upgrades to qualify for rebates. Pre-Retrofit Energy Audit: $650 plus HST
Post Retrofit Energy Audit: $350 plus HST

For these upgrades, a pre-retrofit energy audit is required before beginning any work. Redmond Home Inspections will assess your home and uncover energy-saving opportunities. To offset the cost of the initial and follow-up home energy assessments, you will receive a $600 rebate after successful completion of the program. Where an owner has tenants, the owner must apply.

Upgrades Include:
Heat Pump Water Heaters: $500
Windows and Doors: $100 per rough opening
Air Sealing: Up to $250
Exposed Floor Insulation: $300
Attic Insulation: Up to $1,500
Foundation Insulation: Up to $2,300
Exterior Wall Insulation: Up to $3,600

The Canada Greener Homes Loan offers up to $40,000 in financing, with a repayment term of 10 years interest-free to help Canadians make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable. The loan can help you finance eligible retrofits that are recommended by Redmond Home Inspections and that have not yet been started.

Is Your Home Eligible?

  • To qualify for Home Renovation Savings program, you must own your home.
  • Eligible housing types include single detached or semi-detached homes, row/townhouses and mobile homes on a permanent foundation. Note: stacked townhouses are not eligible.
  • If you heat your home with natural gas, you must be an Enbridge Gas customer. If you heat your home with electricity, propane, oil, or wood you must be connected to Ontario’s electricity grid unless you are in the process of converting to or from Enbridge natural gas for home heating.

Some rebates require an initial home Energy Audit before starting any work. However, if you’ve already started your upgrades, you may still be eligible for rebates on heat pumps, solar panels or a smart thermostat.
